Likewise I've voted for some democrats and some republicans. Hopefully, the status quo will be shaken up enough so that both parties move away from extremism to a more moderate common sense aproach.
Caught Obama being interviewed on NBC...the more I see of him the more I can honestly say I would vote for him for President...Hopefully, he will run...
I think we have made great strides toward some real progress.
Time will tell.
peace, wayf
Let's hope things change for the better. We really need some changes. Hey, good to see you back for awhile!
I hope the congress and the president will do their jobs and put the best interest of all americans at the forefront of all they do. I remain very hopeful.
I like Obama too, but I think McCain and Hillary are ahead of the line with more experience. He might be a good VP candidate.
We were due for a change. Let's see if the change bring improvements.
It was hard to stay away on this one. I think most know how much I love politics. I am genuinely concerned about our country and helping others. We will definitely have change. I just hope its the right kind. But anything other than what we had is a welcomed alternative. Did you notice the gas prices went up again.
What's shaking buddy. I thought about you last evening as I sat before the television for hours. I remember your post WE WILL REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER. You were certainly on the money. Bush worked in a bipartisan way in Texas and I was hopeful when he was elected. He let me down. Perhaps now he will remember why he was drafted by his party.
I just read "confessions of an economic hitman" and it left me feeling hopeless. All that matters to those in power is greed, greed, greed, and equality and fairness doesn't profit them. They feel entitled to their superior position as if they are above the rest of us occupying the huddled masses working our lives away earning them their profits for a few bucks an hour. They are the plantation masters and they view the rest of us as less than equal. It is their manifest destiny to exploit the masses and gobble up everything for themselves.
I think the drop in gas prices just before elections was soo, soo obvious that it probably pissed people off and they would have been better just leaving it high.
My idea for reformation is: No president or elected official shall hold office while maintaining a personal economic interest in a foreign nation.
Before entering office they would have to sell off their foreign interests and cash out.
Declaring war so Haliburton can get a big contract and they can make millions! Isn't that a conflict of interest???? Wouldn't a judge have to excuse himself from a case if he owned stock in a company that was being sued as a conflict of interest?
Let's find some true statesmen, Art. Dat's what I'm talkin' 'bout!
I really do hope there will be a different tone in Washington. I dont expect gridlock, but I do expect a great deal of compromising. Lets see if the Dems cave in to big business. I hope they will not. The little man and woman have gotten the shaft lately. And you are right. Haliburton has lined its pockets because of this war.
Hope you're doing OK Art. Take care.
I so feel you..so tired of partisanism.. it's so old!! So..how have you been??
I'm with you...cept I didn't vote for 1 republican!!!
